ACCREDITATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
As a student of both political Science and European Union Studies, I am experienced and confident with the research and assessment of legal acts, regulations, directives and theoretical works. I have achieved well in my research work, and believe it is an area in which I can confidently accrue desired results.
Much of my European Union degree has been based upon the regulations, acts and directives of the legislative branch of the Union. I have a strong history of effectively researching, assessing and analysing these areas of legislation. I have had some experience in practical law, researching and assessing various cases.
I have a proven track record with my ability to research and assess theoretical data. Whilst improving my critical thinking skills, I have undertaken studies in New Zealand and Australian politics. I have studied the workings of Government and that of government departments, and New Zealand's relations with other nations. Throughout this area of study I have procured an interest for the development and analysis of policies, both domestically and internationally. I have had success with individual qualitative research during a paper on Climate Change and its effects on Coastal Communities. The findings of my research had to then be presented by me, aurally to the local Council and Environment Canterbury. In addition to these skills, I have taken a paper in Maori culture as an interest and to further improve my understanding of the cultural differences that are apparent in New Zealand.
Prior to my academic achievements, I have worked both in New Zealand and overseas. Earning a position as an Operations coordinator in England, I refined my ability to manage people and data. I proved my ability to manage a variety of accounting tasks, administrative duties as well as organise on-site maintenance for up to 5 area managers at any one time.
I believe I have great people skills, I am able to use my initiative and can take the lead. I have worked part time for Harcourts, where I had the opportunity to further these skills. I conducted myself with maturity, something I gained from moving abroad at a young age, and traveling extensively since then. I am reliable, conscientious and I believe both my personal and academic skills could be an asset to you.
