EmploymentWorks! Is a service that provides practical support for people in pursuing their employment aspirations to achieve; real jobs for real pay. This service is for adults, aged 18-65 years residing in Auckland who want to get a job and whose ability to participate in employment has been affected by their experience of mental health issues or the effects of long term injuries. Our Supported Employment Consultants provide:
Free expertise and resources to assist employers with staff recruitment, placement and retention, thereby reducing recruitment time and costs.
On-going support of your employee for as long as required to ensure your needs as an employer are consistently met.
Advice and assistance for employers who would like to gain further knowledge and effective strategies to support the more than 40% of the work force that have, or will experience mental health issues, which in turn helps increase productivity, reduce absenteeism and administration costs and create a positive, supportive workplace culture.
To be competitive and effective, workplaces need to ensure they recruit the best person for the job and then retain and develop them. If people are excluded from the job market for reasons that do not relate to their ability to do the job, workplaces will inevitably miss out on skills, talent and energy. The fact that a person has experience of mental illness or other disability says nothing about their ability to do a particular job.
